Amanda became aware of her Anti-D and Anti-C (large) antibodies during routine prenatal bloodwork with her third pregnancy. Her second pregnancy ended in an early miscarriage which is likely how she was sensitized despite receiving rhogam. Her titers went from too low to titer to extremely high within four weeks. Her son developed severe HDFN and fetal hydrops by 23 weeks and needed 6 IUTs. The hydrops completely cleared after the 3rd IUT and her miracle baby was delivered at 35 weeks on December 6th, 2023. Her son, Leonard (Lenny/Leo), needed 5.5 weeks of NICU time, one exchange transfusion and 2 post birth regular transfusions. He is now a babbling, bouncing, perfect baby boy. Amanda lives with her husband Chris, daughter Annabelle (4), 2 dogs, and baby Lenny. She works full time as a corporate business analyst and also owns a boutique dance studio in her small town in Minnesota. Amanda is passionate about helping other Allo moms feel safe, heard, and educated to receive the excellent care they deserve.
