Molly Sherwood

Director of Research / Anti-E, Anti-S

Molly Sherwood serves as the Director of Research at the Allo Hope Foundation. She received her bachelor’s degree in Biology and Sociology at Wake Forest University with a research focus in evolutionary genetics. She then transitioned into life sciences research consulting for nearly ten years with an emphasis on epidemiology, regulatory affairs and strategic publication. Molly has extensive experience in managing large-scale research efforts including comparative clinical studies, consumer studies, systematic literature reviews, marketing plans, and patient experience studies. She has managed nuanced relationships throughout these large initiatives with nonprofit institutions, industry, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and FDA.

Molly was diagnosed with maternal alloimmunization in 2018 while pregnant with her second son. She experienced firsthand the needs in this patient population for consistent, high-quality, patient-centered care for her disease, and sought support from the alloimmunized patient community in her own pregnancies. Since the establishment of the Allo Hope Foundation, Molly served as a consultant, focusing on research and provider education efforts and grant writing before transitioning to focus exclusively on the Allo Hope Foundation in 2022.

Director of Research / Anti-E, Anti-S

Anti-E, Anti-S Antibodies

Molly became aware of her anti-S and anti-E antibodies during her pregnancy with her second son. During an evaluation for early pregnancy bleeding, her weak-D antigen status was also identified, and she received her first dose of RhoGAM after not having received treatment in her previous pregnancies. In learning about her condition, she became her own advocate for appropriate prenatal and postpartum care and was fortunate enough to welcome her second and third children who required no interventions. Molly and her husband Conner have three sons, Ronan, Hayes, and Grayson. Molly received her degree in Biology and Sociology from Wake Forest University. When she is not chasing children, she enjoys baking, crafting, gardening, and serving as an active member in the Foundation, overseeing AHF’s research and grant writing activities.
