Kate Luevano
Kate Luevano serves as the Patient Advocacy Coordinator for The Allo Hope Foundation. She has over a decade of experience in prevention and addiction counseling and uses her clinical expertise along with a compassionate patient-centered approach to her work supporting alloimmunized mothers and families. In her role, Kate helps patients navigate both the emotional and logistical challenges of accessing expert, life-saving care during alloimmunized pregnancies.
Kate learned she was alloimmunized after her diagnosis was missed and her daughter, Josie, was stillborn on June 27, 2023. Josie’s loss came after the second-trimester loss of Kate’s first baby, Emerson, unrelated to alloimmunization.
With the guidance and support of The Allo Hope Foundation, Kate and her husband, Dewayne, later worked with a specialized care team to receive proactive treatment—including plasmapheresis, IVIG, and multiple IUTs – resulting in the birth of their healthy son in 2024. Kate is incredibly grateful for the mothers, advocates, and medical professionals who supported her along the way. She is passionate about paying that support forward, working to ensure that more families have access to the care they need, helping to save lives, and preventing the kind of loss her family has endured.
